PROGRAM

Ready for a *SMART*/START/ into Computational Neuroscience?

We invite first and second-year Master students with a background in
fields such as physics, mathematics, biology, computer sciences,
engineering, psychology or medicine to apply to our joint training
program *SMART*/START/. The program aims at complementing previous
studies with concepts, theories and techniques of Computational
Neuroscience. *SMART*/START/ consists of two programs. Both of them last
one year and take place at numerous locations of the Bernstein Network
throughout Germany.

*SMART*/START/ 1 aims at current first year second-year Master students.
It provides financial support to attend supplementary courses and
training visits at participating institutions. Students will receive an
experienced faculty mentor who will advise and guide them at this
educational stage.

*SMART*/START/ 2 aims at current second year master students, who will
have achieved a master's degree by October 2018 and who intend to start
a PhD project. Participants will be financially supported to thoroughly
plan and prepare a collaborative PhD project between two labs. The
program provides a 65% employment for 12 months as well as personal
travel allowance for lab vistis and courses.

Both *SMART*/START/ programs will commence October 2018. The application
